L A K E....

today was HOT! HOT! HOT! & geesh... wasn't it a great day to spend at the lake. A friend of mine text & said " it is too hot to fish & I don't golf, so what do i do now" lol! I said find a watering hole. It is too hot to be anywhere else in Tennessee, other than under the air-con ditioner & uh! where's the fun in that?
anyways, we packed a bag & headed to Lexington, Tn to meet up with other family that owned sea do's. Boy! what a time we had! Golden Moments..Summer memories! (side note)as I write this from the hotel room, the kiddies are watching high school musical 2 & they are singing the 1st song of the movie...summertime! LOL.. i know that's a God thing..agree? come on & let me here you say it..it's the time of our lives...
I have to say, at first, today was a little awkard for me, but i got over that quickly. You see I went through a turmoil last year in my family around this time of the year, and it ripped my family to shreads & the lurking shadows of those memories tried to come & steal my joy. Soon, I was being silly, crazy Aunt Becky ready to have a grand time & do my best to ensure that everyone around me was doing the same. Amazing!
can't concentrate atm...be back soon with PICS!

Tennessee..hot?humidity?savory!

Living in TN pretty much my whole life, one would think that I would be used to heat & humidity, however, every year, it seems it gets worse and worse. Maybe it is because I keep getting older. Lol. Today the heat index reached 101 degrees. The weekend is suppose to be worse. Eww! When you go outside, be sure to wear your sunblock and look for a pool or at least some shade. Spending time in the pool with my children and thier friends is one of the highlights of my life. I cake the SPF 50 on my little 2year old lady & the 3guys & do my best to impress them as I try to turn flips off the diving board. I get a laugh out of them at least as we make memories that I pray will last throughout their lives. It was hilarious to hear my little lady tell her daddy what she had witnessed earlier in the day. She said "daddy, mommy went (starts hand motions) splash...swoosh..boom." of course that is my interpretation of her 2 year old sounds. Anyways, her daddy got a hoot out of explaination. It is always my pleasure to give wings to a timid scared angel. Let me explain, our friend, Loralie, who is 8yrs old, wants to jump off the diving board like the other kidos & slide down the slide, but is lacking that little bit of courage that so many angels lack at that age. After seeing this silly momma go out there & pretty much make big splashes & lots of laughs, the wheels of courage begin to move faster & faster in her angelic mind. Will you stand right there, she ask me. Of course I am not 9feet tall so I couldn't very well stand there, but I say "yes, I will be right here for you." She finds the courage and spreads her brave little wings & bounces right off that diving board. She was so exicited, as was I.

Isn't that just like our Heavenly Father? Don't get me wrong, I'm no Jesus, but I was happy to "stand right there" when someone needed me to. I have been that scared little girl wanting to dive off the diving board but lacking the courage to spread my tiny wings, only to realize that Jesus is 9ft tall & He would be right there when I jumped.

So...the weekend coming up, tomorrow is Friday, which by the way makes no difference in my life right now except that I do get to spend more time with at home my hubby, since the guys are out of school & i am a stay at home mom. (Wondering who came up with the phrase stay at home mom since we rarely stay at home. lol especially if you have more than 1kid.) So back to my point, I am looking forward to spending time with my family this weekend, maybe at the lake. Lexington,TN has a place called Beech Lake that is huge fun. It is West Tn's version of the ocean. lol. You can boat & ride sea do's, fish, swim & all the fun that goes along with those adventures. The smell of grilling hotdogs & hamburgers puts a nice savory aroama in the air. Add family & friends in that mix and you have tradition in TN that keeps growing & growing. After all, water & shade.....the key to staying cool in Tn.
